IDS Lighthouse Key is a cloud-based software solution developed by IDS to manage and label image data for the purpose of training an artificial neural network (ANN). Users do not need to set up their own development environment, nor do they need special prior knowledge to create, train and execute ANNs. This lowers the entry threshold for the use of artificial intelligence in industrial image processing enormously and makes applications possible that are difficult or impossible to solve with rule-based image processing. The neural networks are specially optimised for use with IDS NXT industrial cameras and can be executed hardware-accelerated thanks to the powerful AI core.

A six-month user license is included with the purchase of an IDS NXT ocean design-in kit. A further license can be purchased for a period of 1, 3 or 12 months when this expires. Anyone who buys an IDS NXT industrial camera and wishes to use the software can purchase a license for a period of 1, 3 or 12 months.
